Board Replacement
Pet stains, split tongues, and crushed boards in a doorway are the usual reasons a few planks have to come out. We replace boards to match species, width, and stain so the patch blends with the rest of the floor. Matching older oak or maple is part of the estimate conversation before any boards come out. On engineered floors, wear-layer thickness also decides whether a sanded blend is even possible after the patch. Face nailing vs. blind fastening is chosen so the repair does not telegraph. The outcome is a localized repair instead of sanding rooms that are otherwise fine. A clean patch beats a whole-room sand sold out of habit. We also check neighboring boards for hidden stain or soft spots before closing the patch.
